Wide Open

Wide Open is all about hiking, nature and exploring new horizons. We are based in Akureyri, and all our tours start from this cosy little arctic town surrounded by mountains with dazzling views over the fjord. We aim to stay off the beaten track and away from the crowds.

During the winter, when the snow is deep and the fjord is white, we put on our snowshoes and enter the frozen landscapes of the north. The snowshoes allow us to go outdoors without sinking to deep in the powder and they give us the necessary grip on patches of icy snow. If you like hiking, you will love snowshoeing.

The Snowshoe Delight is our daily scheduled snowshoe tour. But you can also book us for a private snowshoe hike, and we also have kids snowshoes for a Family Snowshoe Tour."
