Operating on Zodiac boats gives the advantage to go closer to the icebergs, also sailors always pick the most interesting route to the edge of the glacier, based on situation and conditions of the lagoon. Our Latest Adventure is our newest product, Café Vatnajökull in Fagurhólsmýri, which our family opened in 2017. This former local grocery store was the heart of our community for almost 40 years, but was closed for a decade until we bought it and converted it to be the base of our operations.

Southcoast Adventure was established in 2009 by Þorgerður Guðmundsdóttir and Ársæll Hauksson. To begin with, there was just ONE jeep that was used to offer trips to tourists and mostly Icelanders who wanted to see more of their beautiful country. Two years later, their first member of staff was hired. The company today has 28 vehicles of all shapes and sizes, including snowmobiles and 4×4 buggies.

Initially, daily trips were offered to Eyjafjallajökul, Þórsmörk, and Fimmvörðuháls. Today, the company has grown considerably, and daily trips are offered in many vehicles to many destinations: snowmobile and buggy trips; twice daily departures to the ice cave; trips transporting luggage for those clients who are doing hikes to the various glaciers, mountains, and the interior; glacier ice-hikes as well as those up mountains and further inland.

All of this and custom-made trips/adventures for those who thirst for something off the beaten track. Many of the staff are also active members of the local Search and Rescue, and this obviously is a bonus when dealing with Icelandic nature and the sometimes rugged environment. Buggy Tours:

Buggy tours in Iceland have become increasingly popular over the last decade. ATV adventure tours are suitable for almost anyone in terms of fitness level. Experience our two-hour buggy adventure tour. The tour starts from our base, Brú Base by Road 249. After a short briefing where your guide takes you through safety procedures, we dress up in a waterproof snow/whole suit and helmet and hop into our buggy ride.

Drive around the area between Fljótshlíð and Eyjafjallajökull. Visit waterfalls, drive on the Markaðsfljótaurar- tundra sand fields around Dímon, cross small streams, and stop at a viewpoint looking over Seljalandsfoss and Vestmannaeyjar (Westman Islands).

This two-hour buggy tour is a unique way to enjoy Icelandic nature and covers some waterfalls and gravel road driving. A stunning natural playground for the next few hours as you test out your buggy surrounded by amazing scenery only Iceland can offer.

Together two crazy Americans decided to start Ice Pic Journeys as a passion project. Through their previous experience guiding with Icelandic companies, Mike and Ryan knew that they wanted people from all over the world to understand the glaciers and how they are changing.

Dynjandi Guesthouse is surrounded by some of the most spectacular countryside that Iceland has to offer and is particularly attractive for outdoor activities. The farm house is located across the peninsula of Höfn, the massive glaciers of the South East are just a couple of minutes drive away as well as Stokksnes and Vestrahorn, and the nearby Lónsöræfi invites to long hikes.

Dynjandi Guesthouse is located on a horse farm, just about 5mins drive from the village of Höfn, which is the lobster capital of Iceland, and offers a large variety of restaurants and cafés. There are three double rooms at Dynjandi, two with double beds, and one with twin bed. All rooms are equipped with bed linen, towels, WiFi access, water kettles, tea, coffee, water, and cookies. Breakfast is included in all room rates.
