Accommodation in three rooms with a shared bathroom (2 wc 1 shower) in an old house built in 1912 as a priest's lodge. Surrounded by beautiful nature, ideal for hikes around the area.
In the same house you will find a café during the summertime, open between 12:30-17:00 o´clock.
We also produce and sell food from our own sheep farm.
The Environment Agency of Iceland’s exhibition on the nature reserve Surtarbrandsgil (e. Lignite canyon) is on the bottom floor and is open daily from 10. June until 10. August. Exhibition on the fossils and lignite in Surtarbrandsgil, along with information about the settler Hrafna Flóki, who named our country Iceland.
In relation to the exhibitions opening hours, hikes to the canyon led by a land ranger are available during these times:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 13:00.

Fjóshornið is located at the Egilsstaðir farm, where the same family has engaged in farming for nearly 130 years. Skyr, yogurt and cheese is produced all year round, made out of cows' milk, but Fjóshornið café is only open in the summertime. You can also buy beef directly from the farm. At the café, you can sit down in a cozy environment, enjoy homemade pastries and drink good coffee.
Unfortunately, Fjóshornið café won't be open during the summer of 2022. If you are interested in one of our products please contact us via Facebook, e-mail or phone.
Smáratún farm is located in the Fljótshlíð agricultural area off road nr. 261, 10 minutes from Hvolsvöllur village and road nr. 1.
For the last three generations the farm has been managed by the same family and the farm stay was introduced in 1986. We have been working according to our sustainability policy since 2007. We were eco labelled by the Nordic Swan in 2014.
We offer accommodation in hotel rooms, chalets and larger cottages. We also have a campsite and cooking facility open all year round. Our hotel restaurant is open for everyone, both for dinner and breakfast. We take pride in serving food from farm to table.

Our store Vala offers all the Solheimar‘s products, handmade art, vegetables, candles, etc. In our coffee shop Græna kannan we roast the Sólheimar coffee, delicious organic coffee Græna kannan also offers The Sólheimar‘s tomato soup, homemade cakes, waffles, wine, and many more. If you want to experience Sólheimar with your taste buds Græna kannan is your most suitable choice. Feeds you with food grown in Solheimar such as from the Greenhouse Sunna and Sólheimar's vegetable garden. Græna kannan is located in the heart of Sólheimar.
Sólheimar is considered the oldest eco-village in the world. Sólheimar was established as a children's home in 1930, but today Sólheimar focuses on offering people with special needs varied and creative employment opportunities, jobs in organic horticulture and forestry in a close-knit community that focuses on environmental issues and vivid cultural life. Sólheimar workplaces include six creative art workshops, Ölur - organic forestry, Sunna - organic horticulture, Guesthouse Sesseljuhus, and Græna Kannan - an organic café. All products are sold in the Vala grocery store and art gallery.

Skarðaborg er nýbýli byggt út úr landi Skarða í Reykjahverfi árið 1949. Eigendur og ábúendur voru þá Þórarinn R Jónsson frá Valþjófsstað í Fljótsdal og Sigurveig Kristjánsdóttir frá Klambraseli í Aðaldal og eignuðust þau 5 börn. Núverandi eigendur og ábúendur eru Sigurður Á Þórarinsson og Helga Helgadóttir og synir þeirra.
Skörð er landsnámsjörð og þar bjó m.a. Ófeigur Járngerðarson sem þar er heygður í Ófeigshóli. 1792 bjó í Skörðum Gísli Arngrímsson og bjó Gíslaættin í Skörðum í 63 ár. Árið 1865 kom að Skörðum Árni Jónsson frá Mýlaugsstöðum.
Árið 1887 til 1926 búa Jón Ágúst Árnason fæddur í Skörðum og Ragnheiður Þuríður Sigurðardóttir fædd að Syðri Neslöndum. Einnig bjuggu á sama tíma Sigurður Sigurðarson og Sigrún María Sigurðardóttir.
Frá 1926 til 1982 bjuggu í Skörðum Jón Þórarinsson frá Valþjófsstað og Sólveig Unnur Jónsdóttir.
Í dag er Skörð dvalarstaður ættingja þeirra hjóna Jóns og Sólveigar.
Móðir Jörð is an Organic farm in Vallanes offering accomodation in newly refurbished guesthouse with suites where design is based on using wood from the farm.
The Móðir Jörð products originate from the organic farm of Vallanes, in East Iceland. Móðir Jörð is recognised for organic Icelandic products made from ingredients which have been grown under natural conditions in the pure and unpolluted climate of Iceland.
The organic café & restaurant is open from June - July - August from 10 am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday. Opening times in May and September are from 11 am to 4 pm.

The food truck is located accross the bridge from the paking lot to the waterfall. You can walk over in 2 minutes or end your hike to Hengifoss with a visit on your way back to the parking lot.
We offer local food, all homemade by ourselves. You can enjoy a warm traditional icelandic soup, waffles after my grandmothers recipe or our very own Gúdd ís ice cream, made from only natural ingredients. And if that is not enough, taste Iceland's only sheep milk ice cream, also made by us under the name Sauðagull. It is made from our own sheep milk and we are the only ones in Iceland doing that. Vegan and glutenfree options are also always available.

Syðri-Hagi offers accomodation in 2 all year around cottages, Götusel and Sólsetur. We are located in Árskógsströnd, Dalvíkurbyggð. At Syðri-Hagi farm are mainly sheep and goats, but also rabbits.
The cottages is in a peaceful place on the land of farm Syðri-Hagi with lovely ocean views. Located on the west side of Eyjafjörður in north Iceland. You can explore the majestic mountain ranges and welcoming valleys, either by car or on foot.
In wintertime Aurora lights can frequently be seen from the cottage on clear and crisp nights. There are also many good skiing areas within easy reach.
The cottage Sólsetur is 25 square meters, built 2016 - 2017. The cottage has one bedroom with two beds (2 beds*90 cm. Possible to push the beds together as a double bed). Also there is a sleepingcouch for two in the livingroom. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for cooking. Kitchen facilities for 4 persons. There is also a TV and free wifi in the cottage On the terrace there is a hot tub and a gas grill
The cottage is open all year around.
The cottage Götusel is 37 m2 with big terrace. There are 2 bed in one rum and bunkbed for 2 persons in another room, besides a sleeping couch in the living room and matresses on the sleepingloft. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for cooking. Kitchen facilities for 8 persons.There is also a TV and free wifi. On the terrace there is a hot tub and a gas grill
The cottage is open from march to november.
It is possible to get your laundry washed at the farm for a small fee.
Pets are not allowed in our cottages.

Welcome to Vogafjós Farm Resort
The resort is located on the east coast of lake Mývatn. It consists of a cosy family-owned guesthouse, a restaurant next to a cowshed and a small boutique with unique local products.
The guesthouse is located in a beautiful area, surrounded by lava rocks and birch trees. It is the perfect location for northern lights scouting. In good conditions the lights can be seen easily from outside the rooms. All our rooms have a private bathroom and a wireless internet connection. The reception is located on the other side of the road, inside Vogafjós Restaurant.
Restaurant
Vogafjós Restaurant is located beside our cowshed. We offer homemade local food such as smoked trout, lamb shanks, beef burgers, mozzarella and salad cheese made from our own milk and our homemade Geysir rye bread which is baked in our underground bakery. The restaurant is fully licensed and specializes in high quality and healthy products. While enjoying your meal you can experience the great view of lake Mývatn or watch through a glass window when the cows are milked, at 7:30 am and 6:00 pm. Guests are also allowed to go inside the cowshed to pet the calves and even try the fresh milk.

The Bjarteyjarsandur farm is owned and operated by three different families, all specializing in their different fields; i.e. farming, tourism, education, food processing, and machine work. The farm is situated in a beautiful by the fjord with a lovely seashore. The same family has lived in Bjarteyjarsandur since 1887.
The Bjarteyjarsandur Family Farm welcomes guests all year round for seasonal farm visits and activities, local food, and guided tours. There is accommodation available for all guests on our friendly campsite, in our mountain cottages, and in the old farmhouse. We welcome you to visit a working sheep farm, where you can experience real Icelandic sheep farming. A great way to dive into Icelandic culture and experience the crisp fresh air of rural Iceland. Activities such as sheep shearing, wild mussel picking, and more, vary from season to season, however tours run year-round. Bjarteyjarsandur Farm emphasises high quality products, produced in an environmentally sustainable way. We produce free-range lamb, pigs, and chicken, organic vegetables, wild berries, and a variety of produce from our protected seashore.

In Efstidalur you will get a unique and different experience. Right in the middle of the Golden Circle, you get a glance of the farm life in Iceland. This family farm has opened up for tourists and offers a variety of products straight from the farm, such as the famous ice cream, skyr and feta cheese. The restaurant also offers beef from the farm and other local food.

Sælureiturinn is a small Café that offers soup and bread for lunch, coffee and homemade pastries during the day. We have products from the farmers market and hand crafts from the region. There is also a campsite.
Erpsstadir is a dairy farm in Northwest Iceland, run by farmer Thorgrimur Einar Gudbjartsson and his family. Erpsstaðir are best known for their ice cream but they also produce the Icelandic Skyr, caraway cheese, white and wet cheese and various other dairy products which the "Cream Shop" at Erpsstaðir processes. All the milk for the production is from the dairy cows on the farm. For other ingredient we strives to use local, seasonal flavors whenever possible, such as rhubarb, dandelion honey, and blueberries from the Westfjords. The farmers at Erpsstaðir are pleased to offer visitors the chance to take a closer look at the world of milk production by seeing and learning of different shape the milk can take. Here you can experience a real Icelandic farm and buy homemade artisan dairy products firsthand. We are not distributing the products widely so far the best bet is to access the products directly from the farm.

The Icelandic Goat Centre at Háafell is working towards protecting and maintaining the goat stock in Iceland. Visitors receive a warm welcome from the goats, which are very people-friendly. You'll get to learn about the Icelandic goat breed and story of the farm.
