Laugarás Lagoon
Laugarás Lagoon is the newest addition to The Golden Circle, Iceland’s most popular tourism route. Situated upon the banks of the Hvítá river near the Iðubrú bridge in the town of Laugarás, the lagoon is a wellness destination that brings warmth and relaxation to travellers and locals alike. Nestled among the mountains with a wide view of the river, two-story outdoor lagoons envelop guests in natural hot spring water sourced from just a few hundred meters away. The contemporary architecture is carefully integrated within the surrounding landscape. A cold pool invites guests to take a plunge in melted glacier water sourced directly from the Hvítá, downstream from the iconic Gullfoss waterfall. Onsite restaurant, Ylja (Icelandic for warmth), will offer a diverse and seasonal menu with ingredients sourced from local farms and greenhouses powered by geothermal energy. Laugarás Lagoon is under construction now and will welcome its first guests in Summer 2025.
