Gjárhjalli

The trail to Gjárhjalli runs from Glúmsstaðasel in Norðurdalur, Fljótsdalur and up the western slope of Múlan.

Gjárhjallin is a special natural phenomenon with cracks and chasms, up to 20 m deep. The cracks are believed to have been formed by gradual rock creep over millennia.
