Hotel Kjarnalundur

Hotel Kjarnalundur is a 66 room hotel, only 3,5 km from downtown Akureyri. The hotel offers a pleasant and relaxing environment with a unique setting in terms of outdoor enjoyment, health and well-being. The surrounding environment allows our guests the possibility to be refreshed by the Icelandic nature as the hotel is located on the edge of Kjarnaskógur, which is one of the most popular outdoor areas in Akureyri.

We offer sgl rooms, dbl rooms and family rooms which range from triple rooms up to rooms for six guests. All our rooms are with bathrooms, tv and Wi-Fi. Free Wi-Fi is in all areas in the hotel.

We have beautiful new cottages (109 sqm) in Kjarnaskógur, located near the hotel. Each cottage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully furnished kitchen, big porch with hot tub and gas BBQ.

In the restaurant guests can enjoy breakfast and dinner. Dinner need to be booked with reservation. The hotel offers total two halls, both halls are great for meetings and banquets, for total 170 people, open all year around.

Our guests have free access to the hot tub and infrared sauna. It is also possible to book a massage.

The building has an elevator and handicapped access to all four floors. There are rooms specially designed for wheelchair access.

In the woodlands of Kjarnaskógur, directly above the hotel, are hiking trails, volleyball courts and playground equipment for children. There is also a specially designed mountain biking track. The walking paths for skiers are plowed in winter.
