Arnanes Restaurant
While having dinner, our guests are invited to a panoramic view to the glaciers and mountains in the realm of Vatnajökull National Park.
In our restaurant the main emphasis is on local food.
- The lobster/lanqoustine is caught by local boats in the town Höfn (6 km).
- A friend of ours, the fisherman Gretar Vilbergsson in the town Höfn brings us the catch of the day.
- The cod we serve is frozen at sea, cought by the freezing trawler Hrafn Sveinbjarnarson from the town Grindavik at the south coast.
- The pork comes from the farm Miðsker (5 km).
- The beef and the potatoes we get from our neighbours at the farm Seljavellir.
- The lamb comes from farms in the realm of Vatnajökull National Park.
- Most of the vegetables we use are from our own garden at the back of the restaurant.
- We bake our own bread and cakes.
Our specialties are fish dishes and traditional Icelandic food. Ideal facilities for meetings and smaller groups.
